Lewis County Public Facilities District

Public Facilities Districts (PFDs) are municipal corporations with independent taxing authority and are taxing districts under the state constitution. The Lewis County Public Facilities District (LCPFD) was formed by the Board of County Commissioners in August of 2007 by Resolution 07-247 under RCW Chapter 36.100. The District was created for the purpose of creating a regional center together with contiguous parking facilities. The LCPFD Board consists of 5 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and the Lewis County Treasurer who serves as an ex-officio non-voting member of the board. Their current funding resource is .03% of state sales tax collected in Lewis County. This funding resource was authorized for 25 years from the date of formation. No new taxes were implemented to fund the activities of the District. Learn more about Washington State PFDs.

In January 2010 the LCPFD Board approved moving forward with the Lewis County Event Center and Sports Complex to be located in the Borst Park area of Centralia. The project was developed through a partnership with Lewis County, the City of Centralia, The Centralia School District and NWSports Hub LLC. We are now into July of 2014, the PFD’s responsibility for the project is complete and the tenant Lewis County Event Center, LLC has been given possession of the building and will be managing and operating events in the building. The project including the building is now know as the Northwest Sports Hub and Sports Complex. To learn more about what is happening on site go to NWSportsHub.com.
